Notices: October 11, 2024
Dear St. Aidan’s,
This Sunday, we will observe Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday in both our worship services at 8 and 10:30. As is our tradition, our Altar Guild will decorate the chancel area with fall flowers and vegetables, symbolizing the abundance we experience through the fruits of God’s creation.
As we observe Thanksgiving Day, please note that the church office will be closed on Monday, October 14, as our staff take time to celebrate with family and friends.
Our Gather & Grow hour will also take a break this Sunday, but resumes on October 20 as we begin a four-week series on Traveling the Way of Love, which runs through November 10. Each Sunday, from 9:15-10:15 in the parish hall, we’ll watch a short (10-15 minute) film highlighting stories of communities who are living out different aspects of living the Christian faith. Then we’ll share some small group conversation about how we experience these elements of faith--—turning, learning, praying, worshipping, going forth, blessing, and resting—in our daily lives.
October 20: Traveling the Way of Love—Turn & Learn
October 27: Traveling the Way of Love—Pray & Worship
November 3: Traveling the Way of Love—Go & Bless
November 10: Traveling the Way of Love—Rest
As you read in last week’s e-news note from Adam and our stewardship committee, this fall our theme is Walk in Love. This Gather & Grow series is meant to complement what we’re asking everyone in our church community to be reflecting on these next several weeks:
What does it mean, in our churches and in our lives, to walk in the way of love?
And how does generously sharing from the abundance of what we have (time, talent, and money) through our church fit in with walking in the footsteps of Jesus?
I hope to see you in church soon,
Becky+

Our choir is a warm and welcoming community, open to members of all ages and experience levels—whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or just starting out, there’s a place for you here. We’re looking to grow our choir with at least four new voices, and we’d love for you to be one of them. We’ll be scheduling brief, informal meetings to chat about your musical interests and conduct a simple vocal assessment—nothing too formal, just a chance to get to know you! Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings, and there are exciting opportunities to travel and perform with the group this season. If you’re interested or want to learn more, please contact Michael at music@staidansinthebeach.com. We can’t wait to sing with you!
