Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry at St. Aidan’s in the Beach welcomes youth of all different perspectives on a journey to know Christ and to make Christ known. You can learn more about our youth ministries (for Grades 6-12) by contacting our Children’s and Youth Minister, Elizabeth Achimah.
Sunday Morning
Most Sunday mornings during the 10:30a.m. service, we gather for youth group to discuss Scripture and how it applies to our life. This Fall, we will be exploring the Difference course. We live in an increasingly divided world and face conflict in our every day lives. The Difference Course is a “series of interactive sessions drawing deeply on Jesus’ encounters in the Gospels and the wisdom of expert peacemakers. [Participants] will be equipped with transformative habits to cross divides, navigate disagreement, practice forgiveness, and pursue a just and flourishing world.”
On the First Sunday of the month, youth will participate and serve in the 10:30a.m. service. Youth are invited to participate through greeting, serving, and singing in the choir as well as potentially in other ways.
Social Events
Twice a month, we have youth group where we explore what it means to live the Christian faith, or we connect over some fun activity.
Twice a month, we gather to play Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) - a role-playing fantasy game. Think Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. Together we use our strengths and character qualities to fight the goblins and other creatures of the forest.
Zoom Bible Study
We have a weekly zoom Bible study on the Gospel of Mark on Wednesday evenings. This is an interactive time together as we seek to see what Scripture says and what that means for our lives.
Children’s Ministry
Sunday School
We offer Sunday School during our 10:30a.m. service for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5. Children go downstairs after the Children’s moment and return at the Peace to participate in Holy Communion. We use Godly Play, which is a Montessori-based curriculum designed to encourage wondering and creativity as we learn about the stories in the Bible and the Christian faith.
We also offer Nursery for ages 0-3.
Busy Bees Drop-In
We offer a weekly drop-in for ages 0-3 and their caregivers on Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30a.m. Busy Bees has a time of free play, stories, and activities. All are welcome to join, no registration necessary.
