3. Ecospirituality Walk: Join members of the St. Aidan’s community on Saturday, Sept 20th at 10 a.m. for a walk from Kingston Road to Queen Street, through the Glen Stewart Ravine …. rain or shine. We’ll meet in the parkette on the south side of Kingston Rd. opposite St. John’s Catholic church then take a leisurely walk through this 11-hectare stretch of secluded boreal woodland alongside Ames Creek. The walk can make you forget that you are in the centre of a city. At a leisurely pace the walk could take 45-60 minutes. It is largely a hidden gift within the neighbourhood. For more information contact Michael Van Dusen .
4. Parent and Tots Music Class: This fall, beginning Sept. 20, we will be offering a parent and tots music class on Saturday mornings. This is an opportunity to meet families in the Beach community. We need people to welcome these families and assist with the program from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. Please speak with Elizabeth if you are able to help with one or more Saturdays.
5. Wonder Church is back! Join us for music, prayers and puppets on Sept., 21 at 4 p.m. If you would like to help, please contact Elizabeth.
6. The Recharge Youth Retreat is happening on September 26-28. All youth grades 6-12 are welcome. The cost is $180 which includes a bus ride to and from St. Timothy’s Church (4125 Sheppard Ave., East). Please register as soon as possible to ensure your spot on the bus. Registration form can be found here: https://linktr.ee/BYMC .
7. Blessing of Animals & Pets – Saturday, October 4, 11:00 AM (West Garden)
Join us for an outdoor service in celebration and thanksgiving for animals and pets! Bring along your pet (or a picture of them) so that they can be blessed during the service. In case of poor weather, the service will be moved indoors to the entrance of the church.
8. Karaoke and Silent Auction EERC Fundraiser: We need donations of items or services for our fundraiser. Do you have a pair of tickets to an event you cannot attend? A service you can offer? Gift cards you are not using? If so, please consider donating them for our East End Refugee Committee fundraiser on Saturday, November 8. Contact Fausta at warden.people@staidansinthebeach.com with your donations.
9. Incumbent Search: The Wardens met with the Bishop in July to review applications and the selection process is ongoing. Reverend Benjamin's part-time contract had been extended until December 2025 to ensure coverage during the process.
