1. Our next Wonder Church is May 17 at 4 p.m. This is an action packed fun service involving prayers, music, a craft... and puppets! Please let Elizabeth know if you are able to help with greeting, baked goods, or cutting out the crafts.
2. This Week in Children's Ministry: Last week, we looked at the early believers (Acts 2:43-47; 4:32-37). We learned about how they shared everything in common so that no one had any need in addition to breaking bread, reading Scripture and just hanging out with each other. This week we will be learning about the Ascension (Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:6-14).
3. Sunday Lunches: Please join us for Sunday lunch after the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, May 24, and Sunday, June 21.
4. Blessing of the Bikes, May 31 after the 10:30 a.m. service: Julie will be blessing bicycles, motorcycles, scooters and other 2 wheeled modes of transportation. Join us by bringing all and any of these modes to church for the blessing. We're wishing everyone a safe and blessed summer on 2 wheels.
5. The Garden Committee meets weekly on Wednesdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and once a month on Saturday mornings (dates and times TBD). Join us for coffee, snacks, weeding, mulching, planting and other garden tasks. Please contact Courtney for access to the Garden Committee job board if you’d like to work in the garden on your own or with a friend on another day.
6. Books and Puzzles needed! We need your used books and puzzles for the sale in June. Place any donated items in the south west corner of the Parish Hall near the sink.
7. Urgent need for gently used clothing items: All Saints Church-Community Centre is an Anglican parish in downtown Toronto. It is also, and distinctively, a vital, full-time support hub for individuals living with poverty and facing housing and food insecurity, physical and mental health challenges, drug use and other barriers. They are located in Moss Park, a neighbourhood with the lowest life expectancy in Toronto, where 31.9% of persons are “low income” (compared to 20% city-wide) and where 40% of residents cannot afford their housing. They have an urgent need for gently used clothing items for their guests. If you have jeans, t-shirts, shorts, hoodies running shoes and other footwear, please place them in the laundry basket in the entranceway at your earliest possible convenience.
8. EERC new family: The EERC has signed a new sponsorship agreement with a family of five from Somalia. They are expected in the next few months. We are asking for your help supplying several kitchen items to help them get set up. Please list of items in the Narthex.
9. Donations to Moorelands Kids: Send a Kid to Camp may be given c/o St. Aidan's or sent to 251 Consumers Road, Suite 601, Toronto, Ontario, M2J 4R3. Donations would be very welcome for the summer camp until mid June. Thank you.
10. Calendar of Events
· St. Aidan's Out of the Cold Summer Meals, West Garden Mondays, 4 - 6 p.m.
· We support the Grace Pascoe Care Centre: Your weekly donations (to the basket by the church office) are gratefully received.
· Euchre: Tuesdays 7-9 p.m., Parish Hall, $5 to play
· Wednesday Eucharistic Service: 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel
· Busy Bees Drop In: Thursdays 10 -11:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall
· Meditation: Thursdays 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. All ages and stages of experience welcome.
11. Live Streaming at 10:30 a.m., Order of Service: The service will be live-streamed on YouTube, which can be found through the following link. The service may be viewed live or at anytime later through our YouTube channel.https://staidansinthebeach.com/live
