1. Thank you for the BBQ! Thank you to the James Family, Dory, Arden, Brian, Ben, Andrew, Arsenije, Kim and Grace for organizing a wonderful barbecue last Sunday.
2. Next Sunday September 27 we observe Orange Shirt Day. The wearing of orange shirts is a way of remembering the children who were sent to residential schools in this country and had their personal possessions taken away. They remind us that every child matters. Wear orange to support this remembrance.
3. The next Wonder Church is Sept 27 at 4 p.m. This service involves puppets, music, prayers and a craft. All are welcome. If you are able to help, please speak with Elizabeth.
4. Join us for a special Blessing of the Animals on October 4 at 2 p.m. This year we are welcoming 2 of the Toronto Police Mounted Unit horses to our west Garden! Bring your pet and join in the event. All pets are welcome.
5. Save The Date! Speaker Event - Thursday, October 15, 7pm, Parish Hall, "The Beaches Neighbourhood: What We Can Learn from its History".
Richard White, PhD and historian, will discuss his recent book about our beloved neighbourhood.
6. Save the Date: Saturday, November 7 for Karaoke! Join us for a fun evening of singing or just listening. The song list available in email notices.
7. Children's Ministry is open for registration

8. Busy Bees Play Group is back!
Parents, caregivers and children ages 0-3 are invited to join us in the Parish Hall on Thursdays from 10 -11:30 a.m. For more information, please contact Elizabeth (children@staidansinthebeach.com).
9. Are you willing to help prepare crafts for Sunday School, Busy Bees and the Parent and Tot Group? This mostly involves cutting up paper! Please speak with Elizabeth (children@staidansinthebeach.com)
10. Surviving Dementia Care-Meet the author and join the conversation:
Sunday Sept 27, 2026, 2 p.m. at Beach United Church, 140 Wineva Ave. A compassionate and insightful guide for anyone navigating the challenging journey of caring for a loved one with dementia. This book is based on research and stories from family caregivers. D. Grant Campbell reimagines dementia care – not as a set of skills to master, but as a deeply human experience to endure and understand. This is a free event, open to everyone. Donations to the Beach-Interfaith Community lunch program gratefully received.

12. Diocese celebrates women’s ordination: The Diocese of Toronto is marking the milestone 50th anniversary of women’s ordination to the priesthood in the Anglican Church of Canada by hosting two events. On Oct. 15 from 12-3 p.m., there will be a service of Holy Eucharist at St. James Cathedral for ordained women priests (active and retired). On Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m., there will be a joyful celebration service of Evensong at St. James Cathedral open to all, with a light reception to follow.
13. New heat pumps: Two heat pumps have been installed on the walls of the Parish Hall to provide heat in the winter and cooling in the summer. The pump on the east side wall will not be in use during the masonry work.
14. Masonry work has started: Masonry work on the east side has begun. Access to east side doors may be restricted for short periods while the work is being completed. Please message Fausta Capogna for any questions or concerns, warden.people@staidansinthebeach.com.

· Euchre: Tuesdays 7-9 p.m., Parish Hall, $5 to play
· Wednesday Eucharistic Service: 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel
· Busy Bees Drop In: Thursdays 10 -11:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall
· Meditation: Thursdays 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. All ages and stages of experience welcome.
