1. Live Streaming at 10:30 a.m., Order of Service: The service will be live-streamed on YouTube, which can be found through the following link. The service may be viewed live or at anytime later through our YouTube channel.

2. Welcome to Creative Preschool! The basement rooms Silver Birch, Spruce, Willow and Maple and the two east side washrooms have been rented, for five years, to Creative Preschool. They will be moving in over the next few weeks. St. Aidan’s will have access to the space on weekdays after 7 p.m. and on the weekends.

 

3. Beach Interfaith Outreach: Locations and dates for all lunches are listed in the Beach Metro News. The next lunch held here at St. Aidan’s is Tues., Nov. 3, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. As part of St. Aidan’s involvement in the Beach Interfaith Outreach Committee, we support the Grace Pascoe Care Centre. Your weekly donations (to the basket by the church office) are gratefully received.

 

4. A briefing for Out of the Cold volunteers will take place in the Parish Hall on Mon. Oct 27 at 7:30 p.m. 

All who have volunteered should attend. The agenda will include:

  • Introduction of Team leads/and Greeter-in-chief Bob Heighway and a brief explanation of the roles

  • Personal introduction of volunteers

  • Overview: why we do it, who our guests are, the team structure, flexibility of assignments (greeting, set up, dishwashing, serving, talking with people, clean-up) 

  • Challenges... and how to handle

  • Questions

  • Schedule (including guest cooks)

  • Assignment to teams of the individuals who do not have one

  • Break into teams for more specific instructions, questions, and assignment of roles.

 

 

5. Karaoke and Silent Auction Fundraiser – tickets available! Get ready to sing your heart out (or just listen) and bid on items - it's going to be a blast!  Click here for the song list. Silent auction items include a pair of Leaf tickets, artwork, and lots of amazing local services.

6. Euchre: Join us on Tuesday nights from 7-9 p.m. for a fun and friendly evening of progressive Euchre downstairs in the Parish Hall. Beginners welcome. Cost is $5; all proceeds support St. Aidan’s community outreach.

 

7. Incumbent Search:  The Wardens are continuing to work with the Bishop on the search for a new priest.

 

8. Welcome Video: We are currently looking to shoot some brief video footage for a welcome video. We would especially like to get aerial footage of the worship space and outdoors to include. If you or someone you know has a drone with recording capabilities, please contact Michael at music@staidansinthebeach.com.

 

9. Volunteers are needed to host Sunday Coffee Hour. The sign up sheet is in the Narthex. If you have any questions, please contact C. Morfitt.

 

10. Garden Committee: Work Days and Collection requests. The Garden Committee meets on Thursdays, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. through the end of November. Join us for coffee, snacks, weeding, mulching and planting!  We are collecting 1 gallon milk/juice jugs for winter sowing native plants and large carboard boxes (untreated, unwaxed, minimal ink) for sheet mulching.  Please bring jugs and broken down boxes to the Narthex or contact Courtney to arrange pick up.

 

11. Wednesday Eucharistic Service: Our Wednesday 10:30 a.m. service of Holy Communion will continue each week. Please join us and enjoy some refreshments afterwards.

 

12. Diocese of Toronto Workshops & Retreats: Practical Advice on Legacy Giving (Free Event):

This fall, the Anglican Diocese of Toronto Foundation will host Wine, Wisdom & Generosity, a series of relaxed, inspiring gatherings. Enjoy a glass of wine and light refreshments and explore how your generosity can make a lasting impact through planned giving. Attendees will hear practical advice on planning their legacy for their parish, learn about the foundation’s free online will-writing program, and have the chance to connect with bishops and fellow Anglicans in meaningful conversation. These free events are open to all. The dates are:

Wednesday, Oct. 29, 5-7 p.m. at Redeemer (Bloor St. at Avenue Rd.)

Thursday, Nov. 13, 5-7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist, Norway (Woodbine Ave.)

 

13. Diocese of Toronto: Season of Spiritual Renewal Workshops & Retreats

The Season of Spiritual Renewal fall workshops are now open for registration. Some are offered during the day and some in the evening. Explore both the single- and multi-session workshops and courses.

  • Workshops include “Hospitality and the Spiritual Life of a Church” (Janet Marshall), and “A New & Ancient Evangelism” (Judy Paulsen).
