2. The first Lift Up Our Hearts service is tomorrow, Sat., Mar. 22, at 2 p.m. at St. James Cathedral. The Rev. Molly Finlay of St. John’s, Norway, will be our inspiring preacher, the suffragan bishops will join Diocesan Bishop Andrew Asbil at the altar, the music will be diverse and outstanding, and there will be an opportunity for anointing with holy oil. Expect to be moved and renewed.
Lift Up Our Hearts is a series of regional worship services designed to bring Anglicans and friends together from all over the Diocese to pray, to be renewed by the Holy Spirit, and to be inspired to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. These five services are part of our Season of Spiritual Renewal in the Diocese, and are a response to the first of our 20 Calls from the Cast the Net consultation.
3. Parish-wide Lent devotional book: Join us in reading Sam Wells’ book, Hanging by a Thread: Questions of the Cross, during this Season of Lent. Read it on your own, with your family, or with a small group. If you would like to gather with others to discuss in a small group, we will gather via Zoom on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in Lent (beginning Mar. 12, weekly through Apr. 16). It’s a short book, just 59 pages, so the reflection to read each week is 6 to 8 pages. To obtain the Zoom link and discussion schedule, please contact Rev. Becky at priest@staidansinthebeach.com.
4. Join us for a Lenten Conversation Circle after the 10:30 Sunday service (through Apr. 6). The sessions will take place in the Chapel for 30 to 45 minutes. Each session is designed to stand-alone—come to one, some, or all. Discussion will be based on one of the scripture readings of the day, focusing on Lenten and eco-spirituality themes in the scripture as well as personal responses to the readings. No preparation required. If you want to read and reflect on the scripture, the selected passages and reflection questions will be available in advance. If you would like to join in but your schedule does not permit staying on after church, a copy of the scripture passages and discussion guides will be available by email from Deacon Michael.
5. Wonder Church: St. Aidan’s is excited to offer a new service designed for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, early elementary children and their families called Wonder Church. This is a 30-45 minute service that includes puppets, music, and prayers. Coffee and treats are provided. All are welcome. Our next Wonder Church is Sun., Mar. 30 at 4 p.m. For more information, contact children’s minister Elizabeth at children@staidansinthebeach.com
6. Celebration for Becky: A celebration BBQ for Becky will be held after the 10:30 a.m. church service on Sun., Apr. 13. Please join us! Contributions towards a gift can be made by e-transfer, cash, or cheque to St. Aidan’s and indicate it is for ‘Becky’s gift.’ Please do not use Canada Helps.
7. Busy Bees Play Group welcomes children ages 0-3 and their caregivers on Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in our Parish Hall. We offer stories, music, and activities. We are looking for lightly used toys for babies and toddlers for our Busy Bees Play Group. Do you like to bake? We are looking for people to bake peanut-free goodies for the Busy Bees Play Group. If you can support us in either of these ways, please speak with Elizabeth.
Opportunities to Share & Serve
8. Abigail Gordon is running this year's Faithworks Campaign. She will be manning an information booth at the back of the church after the 8:30 service and before and after the 10:30 service for the next few weeks. Please stop by to learn about Faithworks! Campaign ends Sun., Mar. 30.
9. Interested in giving to FaithWorks? Here are the best ways to donate so that St. Aidan’s gets credit for your donation:
1. Cash or Cheque (payable to Church of St. Aidan) in an offering envelope—be sure to write "Faithworks" on the "Other" line, and put your name or donation account number on the envelope.
2. E-transfer sent to donations@staidansinthebeach.com - put "Faithworks" in the message area when sending, along with donor's full name and address if not already on file.
3. Credit Card payments - use this link Canada Helps: St. Aidan's - Faithworks or the QR code below
to access the donation form on Canada Helps, or tap at church using credit or debit cards after Sunday worship services through the end of March.

The next lunch held here at St. Aidan’s is Tues., April 1, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. As part of St. Aidan’s involvement in the Beach Interfaith Outreach Committee, we support the Grace Pascoe Care Centre. Your weekly donations to the basket by the church office are gratefully received.
12. We’re looking for new people to help host our coffee hour: Don’t worry, we’ll show you what to do to be a host! You can sign up with your family or friends to serve coffee, tea, and snacks. You can pick a Sunday that works for you, and you can help out once a month or just a few times a year. To sign up, you may find a sign-up sheet for hosting coffee hour in the church entryway (Narthex), or you may email Ella. Hosts are still needed for dates in April, May, and June.
13. We’re looking for people to bake homemade treats for coffee hour: We're looking for volunteers to bring treats for our coffee hour on Sundays! Whether it's baked goods, snacks, or any other delicious offerings, we would love to have your contributions. Please remember to label any items for allergies.
14. We need help setting up and cleaning up for our Mar. 30 Wonder Church service. If you are able to help, please speak with Elizabeth.
15. Euchre: Join us on Tuesday nights from 7-9 p.m. for a fun and friendly evening of progressive Euchre downstairs in the Parish Hall. Beginners welcome. Cost is $5; all proceeds support St. Aidan’s community outreach.
