Notices for the Week of June 27– July 4, 2025

 1. Pride Sunday – Sunday, June 29: We know that love is love. Our worship will celebrate God’s love at work in the 2SLGBTQ community, giving thanks for their gifts and talents in the church and in wider world. Following the service, all who are interested are invited to march with the Diocese of Toronto’s Proud Anglicans contingent in the pride parade (details forthcoming).

 2. March in Toronto Pride Parade – Sun. June 29, 1:15 pm: Once again, St. Aidan’s in the Beach will be participating in the Toronto Pride Parade! Marchers will be part of the Diocese of Toronto’s Proud Anglicans contingent.

Our place in the parade is E26. Marchers are assembling by 1:15 pm on Aylmer Ave, which runs east from Yonge Street and is the first road south of Rosedale subway station. The easiest way to get there is to go to Rosedale station and then walk one block south. Please note the change from previous years – we are not gathering in front of St Paul’s Bloor St.

Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and water!

 3. Summer worship schedule: Beginning Sunday, July 6, we will move to our summer worship schedule on Sundays, sharing in one worship service together at 9:30 a.m. We will return to two Sunday services on Sunday, September 7, which also be our patronal service of celebration.

  4. Youth Catch Up and Summer Planning: On July 6. after the 9:30 service, youth will head to Ed's Scoop (Beech and Queen) to get ice cream and chat about our summers. Come with your ideas of what you would like to do as well as your calendars! Please let Elizabeth know if you are able to come.

  5. Ecospirituality:  Join members of St. Aidan's, and other congregations, on Wednesday evenings in July (7:00 to 8:30) for discussions on eco-spirituality,

The first session will be on Wednesday July 2 at 104 Kingswood Rd. (2 blocks west of the church and up the hill.)  The first two weeks will discuss what has happened since Ladato Si: On Care for our Common Home was published in 2015.

The weekly discussions will address eco-theology, science, perspectives and actions and will be co-facilitated by Martha Asselin, John Brewin and Michael Van Dusen

(We are also looking for hosts for several other Wednesday evenings. Contact Michael.

 6. Children's and youth ministry this summer will be exploring faith together through science experiments. All ages are welcome.

 7. Season of Hope: Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the future incumbent.  The Wardens will use these thoughts and the values listed on our Parish Profile to guide them when meeting with the Bishop on July 17 to review incumbent applications.

 8. Garden Vision Casting: Help us think about how the St. Aidan's gardens can serve the Beach neighbourhood.  We will think about how to engage the community as well as how to plant and maintain the various garden beds around the property.  Contact Courtney if you are interested in participating in a few vision casting sessions.

  9. Please submit new announcements for the weekly notices to Mary at office@staidansinthebeach.com by Wednesdays at 4 p.m.
