1. Beaches Sidewalk Sale - Volunteers needed! We need some volunteers to help with the Beaches Sidewalk sale on Saturday, June 13th from 9:30am to 1:30pm. We will have a table outside, along with Creative Preschool, and we will welcome our neighbours to come into the Hall to buy some books and puzzles and see our space. Please email Fausta if you are available to help: warden.people@staidansinthebeach.com.
2. Garden Work Day postponed: Our Saturday, June 13 Garden Work Day will be postponed until the fall. Stay tuned for an invite to a planting day with barbecue lunch!
3. Book sale! Stock up on your summer reads and puzzles. Sunday, June 14 after the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services in the Parish Hall.
4. Upcoming Themed Sundays: June 14 - Refugee Sunday; June 21 - National Indigenous Day;
June 28 - Pride Sunday.
5. Sunday, June 14 at 7 p.m. on zoom. Renewing Our Treaty Relationships: Join us as the Right Reverend Andrew Asbil shares what he is learning on the journey of reestablishing the Anglican Diocese of Toronto’s Treaty relationships with Indigenous Nations.
6. Elizabeth, our Children and Youth Minister, experienced a significant medical event a couple of weeks ago and we are supporting her in her recovery with meals and Uber gift certificates. Sign up and delivery details here: https://mealtrain.com/wnngq0. Thank you!
7. Spring cleaning! Friday, June 19: We need volunteers to help with a bit of cleaning on Friday, June 19. Meet in the kitchen at 9 a.m.
8. Sunday Lunch: Please join us on Sunday, June 21 for lunch in the Hall after the 10:30 a.m. service.
9. Pre-vestry and Special Vestry meetings, Sundays June 21 and July 5: On Sunday, July 5, Corporation is calling a Special Vestry meeting (after 9:30am service) to vote on a motion to withdraw funds from the St. Aidan's Fund (SAF) to complete masonry work on the east elevation of the building. Pursuant to the SAF Policy, there will be a pre-Vestry meeting following the 10:30am service on Sunday, June 21 to review, explain and discuss the motion. The Parochial Tribunal will post a list of members eligible to vote on June 21 and 28. An email will be sent with background materials to those who are voting members of vestry. If you have not received an email by next week, please inform the office.
10. Donations for the Send a Kid to Camp campaign may be given to St. Aidan's until mid-June, at which time the total amount received will be passed along to Moorelands Kids. If you are giving via St. Aidan’s, you may do so by e-transfer, cash, or a cheque payable to “Church of St. Aidan”, and please include a note/memo that it is for Moorelands. Alternatively, you can donate via Canada Helps (either St. Aidan’s or Moorelands Kids), or cheques can be sent directly to Moorelands Kids at 251 Consumers Road, Suite 601, Toronto, Ontario, M2J 4R3. Thank you for your support.
11. Calendar of Events
· St. Aidan's Out of the Cold Summer Meals, West Garden Mondays, 4 - 6 p.m.
· We support the Grace Pascoe Care Centre: Your weekly donations (to the basket by the church office) are gratefully received.
· Euchre: Tuesdays 7-9 p.m., Parish Hall, $5 to play
· Wednesday Eucharistic Service: 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel
· Busy Bees Drop In: Thursdays 10 -11:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall
· Meditation: Thursdays 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. All ages and stages of experience welcome.
12. Summer worship schedule: Beginning Sunday, June 28, we will move to our summer worship schedule on Sundays, sharing in one worship service together at 9:30 a.m.
13. Summer office hours: Office hours and church access will be available from 9 a.m. to noon on July 14, 15, 17, 21, 22 and 23 and August 7. A reminder that the office and church access is unavailable on Mondays.
14. Live Streaming at 10:30 a.m., Order of Service: The service will be live-streamed on YouTube, which can be found through the following link. The service may be viewed live or at anytime later through our YouTube channel.
