2.  Welcome to our new Parish Administrator!

Please join us in welcoming our new Parish Administrator, Mary Leone, who began work on Monday, June 5.   Mary comes to us from Bayview United Church where she served as the Church Administrator and Bookkeeper for 8 years.  The office will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 12 noon, and 1 to 5pm; please stop by to introduce yourself.

3. The Great Canadian Giving Challenge and Moorelands Send a Kid to Camp Fundraiser

During the month of June, Canada Helps is again running their annual Great Canadian Giving Challenge – the winning charity receives $20,000! Every dollar donated to St. Aidan’s via Canada Helps, during the month of June, becomes a ballot in the draw for the $20,000 prize.  You are welcome to donate to any of our funds, but we encourage you to use this opportunity to make a donation to our annual Moorelands Send a Kid to Camp Campaign.  Moorelands provides kids from low-income neighbourhoods with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build confidence, practice social skills and be physically active in the great Canadian outdoors, through subsidies to offset the cost of camp.  All the donations collected by St. Aidan’s that are directed to Moorelands will be forwarded to them at the end of June to support their camp programs.  Moorelands Kids is consistently  recognized as one of the Top 100 Rated Charities in Canada by Charity Intelligence!  To learn more about their work, visit their website: Moorelands Kids   Click here to make your donation: Canada Helps: St Aidan's - Moorelands     If St. Aidan’s wins the $20,000 prize, we will put the money towards our west garden project.  Thank you for your support!

4. Memorial Service for Marilyn Ferguson

The memorial service for Marilyn Ferguson, mother of Amy Ferguson, will be on Sat. June 17 at 1 pm here at St. Aidan’s, and there will be a reception following the service in the lower level to which all parishioners are welcome.

5. The Rev. Jeff Nowers — June Vacation

Jeff will be away on vacation from June 5-26. In his absence the Rev. Michael Van Dusen will preach on June 11 and Michael Barrett will preach on June 25; the Rev. Marguerite Rea will preside at the altar on both those Sundays. On June 18 (Father’s Day) we welcome the Rev. Vinaya Dumpala as our preacher and presider. Vinaya has served parishes in the Oshawa area. Originally from India, he and his family lived many years in Saudi Arabia before coming to Canada. His son is the Rev. Yohan Dumpala, assistant curate of our neighouring parish St. John’s Norway.

6. St. Aidan's Garden Maintenance Volunteer Roster

We are developing a roster of volunteers who can help maintain our exterior property with projects like planting, pruning, weeding and lawn repair.  We will have occasional work parties as well as tasks that can be completed at your convenience.  Sign up via this link or on the bulletin board in the Basement Hall.

7. Pot Luck Lunch for Margaret Allen

Just a quick follow-up to our recent notice about our pot luck lunch on June 25 to celebrate the well-earned retirement of Margaret Allen, our long-standing parish administrator.  If you would like to add a dish (eg. salad, sandwiches, casserole, veggies, dessert), please contact Linda Fawcett, Deputy Warden at 416-706-5780 or at staidans.committeesecretary@gmail.com and let her know what type of dish you will bring.  All contributions welcome!

8. Summer Schedule of Sunday Services

June 25 will be our final Sunday with services at 8:30 and 10:30am. Beginning July 2, we will move to our summer schedule of only one service each Sunday — at 9:30am. We will return to our two-service schedule on September 10, which happens to be our patronal festival (St. Aidan’s Day).

9. Altar Flowers for July and August

July 23rd and 30th, August 6th and 27th are open for a flower dedication. If you are interested, the cost is $80 for the two vases. Please contact Hian-Lie Liem at 416-706-3775 or at hian.lie.liem@gmail.com

10. Sunday School Volunteers Wanted

Our children's programming on Sunday mornings relies on a team of awesome volunteers. We are in need of some new helpers to teach and support our Sunday school classes. Lesson plans are provided so prep work and commitment is minimal. Help us keep our children's ministry alive! Please contact gemmasnider@hotmail.com if you are interested or know someone who may be!

11. Choir Camp

This summer, we invite all kids to join us for another fun-filled week of summer day camp complete with singing, musical exploration, and outdoor fun and games. Running July 10-14 for $100, for kids ages 6-14! For more information or to register, contact music@staidansinthebeach.com.

12. Food Bank Needs
