Dear St. Aidan’s,

It has been a joy to walk alongside the children, youth and families of St. Aidan’s this past year. I’ve witnessed growth in numbers as well as growth in faith. God is at work in our young people and it is exciting to see.

This fall we have a couple of new initiatives planned. We are hoping to expand our nursery and preschool ministries. We currently have a significant preschool population at St. Aidan’s which corresponds with a large percentage of children under the age of 5 in this neighbourhood. One of our initiatives will be to offer a drop-in time for caregivers and young children during the week.

Another exciting initiative is to offer a service that is geared towards ages 0-6 and their families. This will include puppets, music, liturgy and snacks. The hope is that we will be able to engage some of the young families in the neighbourhood that are not already apart of children’s ministry.

In youth ministry, we will continue to offer opportunities to dig into Scripture on Sundays and during our Wednesday Bible Study on zoom. We continue to offer social events including a Dungeons and Dragons group (a fantasy-based cooperative role-playing game).

We have a wonderful team of volunteers with both youth and children and we cannot carry out this ministry without them! If you are interested in how you can support children’s and youth ministry, please do speak with me. There are lots of opportunities for leadership, prayer and baking!

Peace,

Elizabeth
